Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

At the dawn of the 1990s there was no bigger hockey prospect than Eric Lindros. The hulking center lived up to his “The Next One” nickname with a package that married sensational skills to his take-no-prisoners style of play and made him a huge asset for Team Canada. The Hall of Fame center was 17 years old when he wore this 1990 World Junior Championships Training Camp jersey, a white light mesh affair by Tackla with a screened crest on the front and a small felt manufacturer’s logo on the right breast. Tackla size XL flag tag sits inside the right hip seam. Also included are Lindros’ early-1990s Canada National Junior Team winter coat and his Team Canada blazer jacket. Comes with Eric Lindros’ signed LOA.
Lindros, who was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2016, represented Canada in three straight world junior championships. He won gold in 1990 and 1991 and his combined total of 31 points in the three tournaments is the most by a Canadian player at the world juniors.
The 1990 World Junior Championship Training Camp jersey has a faint yellowish stain to the left of the right side of the front collar, a small mark above the Tackla logo on the right breast, and a couple of tiny black marks on the left front just to the right of the screened crest.
The Canada National Junior Team winter coat has Shan manufacturer’s tagging in the back of the neck along with three flag tags, including a “Mens Size XXL” and another that indicates that the outer shell is a 35% cotton/65% polyester blend. “Canada National Junior Team” logo is embroidered on the left breast, and “National Junior Team” is embroidered in white thread on the strap with a Velcro tab on the left sleeve at the cuff. Wear shows in some stains and pilling on the collar.
The Hockey Canada logo is embroidered in gold thread on the left breast of the black wool blazer with gold-colored buttons. “Pure Virgin Wool” tagging sits below the bottom pocket on the left side’s inner lining, which has “Dechamps International, cloth made in W.-Germany” tagging below the upper inner pocket. “Hyde Park for Moores” tagging is below the inner pocket on the right side of the lining. There is a small hole in the wool fabric low on the left sleeve near the cuff.
