Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Blue line stalwart Emile "Butch" Bouchard received this sterling silver tray to commemorate the Montreal Canadiens' Stanley Cup win in the spring of 1944. The HOF defenceman helped guide the Habs to a five-game win over Toronto in the semis and a four-game sweep of Chicago in the final. "National Hockey League Champions and Stanley Cup Winners, Season 1943-44, Club de Hockey Canadien Inc, Emile Bouchard" is engraved on the front of this treasured keepsake. Measuring 10" in diameter, it bears a few examples of handling from proud display over the decades with a small dent on the edge at about 4 o'clock and a slightly warped shape. A couple of hallmarks appear on either side of the "Handmade Sterling" stamp on the reverse. Comes with Butch Bouchard's signed LOA.
