Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Only the sixth player in NHL history to earn his place within the prestigious 200-goals club, Canadiens’ veteran centerman Elmer Lach reached the milestone when he beat Chicago’s Al Rollins, slipping the puck into the net and forever etching his name within the pantheon of legendary greats. No small feat, the only active members of the “club” at the time were Richard, Bentley, Mosienko, Schmidt and Woody Dumart. Lach’s important marker came at 9:29 of the second period and broke a 2-2 tie. Doug Harvey and Rocket Richard, who had made a rush before dishing off to Lach, drew assists. Just 32 seconds later, The Rocket scored his 325th NHL goal to break Nels Stewart’s all-time goal scoring record and the Habs went on to a 6-4 victory in front of 14,562 fans that certainly got their money’s worth! An Elmer Lach signed LOA will accompany.
An Art Ross example with these pucks seeing NHL use from the beginning of the decade to 1958, one orange rubberized logo has darkened somewhat, with the puck autographed in silver by Lach with “Canadiens”, “200 Goal”, “Chicago” and the November 8, 1952 date. “Chicago Nov 8, 52” was originally penned to the reverse logo in dark ink, and can still be made out somewhat.
