Finishing atop the NHL with 119 points, the Edmonton Oilers dispatched of Winnipeg, Calgary and Minnesota during the 1983-84 Stanley Cup playoffs before dethroning the New York Islanders in five games. This important historical collection of 35mm colour and b&w Edmonton Oilers negatives totals approx 1,339, with roughly 378 that include Gretzky (268 colour and 110 black and white). The breakdown is approx 1,113 colour negatives and 226 b&w negatives. Highlights include Gretzky goal-scoring sequences vs Toronto (Oct 5) and Minnesota (1984 playoffs), images of Wayne and others posing with the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, Wayne signing autographs, Mark Messier receiving the Conn Smythe Trophy, over 300 images from the Oilers Stanley Cup parade including Wayne with the Cup, images from a Gretzky celebrity golf tournament including Gordie Howe, a rare sequence of Gretzky retaliating with a player and more.
The majority of the negatives remain in excellent condition with no issues. We should also note that included in the 1,339 total there are approx 150 images of Team Canada vs the Soviets from Dec 27, 1983, which includes a number of images of Vladislav Tretiak.
