Completing the 1998-99 NHL season with the NHL's best record, losing only 17 games, the Dallas Stars, led by Brett Hull and Ed Belfour, would get past Edmonton, St Louis and Colorado before defeating the Buffalo Sabres in six games to claim their first Stanley Cup championship. Hailing from his personal collection, we have the stick used by superstar netminder Ed Belfour in the April 23rd 1999 Western Conference Quarterfinals game #2 (won 3-2 by Dallas Stars), the May 6th 1999 Western Conference Semifinals game #1 (won 3-0 by Dallas Stars) and the May 8th 1999 Western Conference Semifinals game #2 (won 5-4 in overtime by Dallas Stars). A Christian model with “Belfour” over the upper shaft, the stick features Ed’s trademark eagle over the lower paddle, with the original black tape over the blade and handle, and white on the knob. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will company.
Annotations have been added to the back of the stick, with "4-23-99, #2, 3-2" and "RD 2 #1 3-0, 5-6-99, #5 S.H.O." and "5-8-99, RD #2, 5-4 O.T. vs STL". Nice use is exhibited on the lumber, with wear to the blade including the underside, with a large chip out of the shaft. Belfour would continue to use a stick he was winning with, with those used in defeats relegated to the rack.
