A measure of Ed Belfour’s status as one of hockey's hardest-working goalies is that he reached the 500-game milestone early in his ninth full season in the NHL. And what a season it was for Eddie the Eagle and the Dallas Stars in 1998-99 when they won the Stanley Cup! Ed’s “500th NHL Game” award is this 9” tall Tiffany & Co crystal trophy that was presented to the HOF goalie by the NHL to commemorate his milestone. Belfour’s name is etched at the top of the circular face along with details of the milestone game, including the “Dallas 5 at Detroit 1, November 3, 1998” result and date of the game. Wonderfully preserved in scratch-free condition, this unique NHL milestone award comes with Ed Belfour's signed LOA.
Belfour went 35-15-9 with five shutouts, a 1.99 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage in 61 regular season games for the Stars in 1998-99, when he shared the Jennings Trophy with Dallas teammate Roman Turek.
The engraved round face measures 5” in diameter and the oval-shaped base measures a shade under 5” x 2 1/2".
