Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The lockout-shortened season of 1994-95 saw the Chicago Black Hawks advance to the Conference Finals, with the goaltending team of Ed Belfour and Jeff Hackett winning the coveted William Jennings Trophy for the fewest goals against. This magnificent William Jennings Trophy was awarded to Hall of Famer Ed Belfour. Standing just over 10” in height, a regal silver bowl with mounted goaltender sits perched atop a darkly-finished 5 ½” square wooden base. From the personal collection of Ed Belfour, a signed letter from Mr. Belfour will accompany this prized NHL trophy.
An affixed centralized plaque proclaims “William Jennings Trophy Ed Belfour Chicago Blackhawks 1994-95”, while the manufacturer’s sticker from NHL trophy producer Boffey remains adhered to the felt bottom. In absolutely gorgeous condition with no damage or issues to note, the trophy currently exhibits a thin layer of tarnish which can be cleaned, but displays extremely well as is.
