Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024

Already in his fourth National Hockey League season by the time the 1992-93 campaign came around, Ed Belfour, who helped lead the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance the previous season, would post a record of 48-18-11 during the 1992-93 season along with 7 shutouts, a .906 save percentage and a 2.59 GAA to capture the second Vezina Trophy of his career. Attributed to the third of his seven shutouts on the year, offered here is this stick used by "Eddie the Eagle" during the 1992-93 season. A signed 100 Superlite model twig made by Christian in red and natural wood, "Belfour" is stamped over both the top and bottom sides of the shaft while the stick retains its original tape job of white-over-black on the handle/knob and white over the lower shaft and blade. Having had "4-0 Shutout VS Minnesota 12-20-92" penned to the upper portion of the tape that extends into the lower part of the paddle on the forehand side, Belfour has also signed over the blade with a large black marker ink signature that displays well and remains legible despite its age. With all the tape having now turned from white to yellow due to age, the stick shows game-wear via puck marks over both sides of the blade tape, red post paint transfer marks over the backside of the upper shaft and wear/tears to the tape on the bottom of the blade as well as the top edge.
