Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016

The NHL’s 75th anniversary season in 1991-92 proved to be a very good one for HOF goalie Ed Belfour and the Chicago Black Hawks. Belfour’s “Turn Back the Clock” Black Hawks game-worn jersey sports the “NHL 75” patch sewn on the right breast that was worn league-wide in 1991-92, when Eddie the Eagle recorded five regular season shutouts before leading the Black Hawks on a record-setting 11-game winning streak in the playoffs to reach the Stanley Cup final. Maska and size 56 flag tags sit in the back of the neck of this gamer, a rare beauty with a gloriously detailed retro team crest that Chicago wore for select Original Six games in 1991-92. Comes with Ed Belfour’s signed LOA.
Game wear includes a few board burns on the back of the right sleeve, red paint transfer on the right hip and both sleeves, a couple of small red marks on the top and bottom of the white twill of the “3” sewn on the back, and pilling on the left side of the collar. There are reddish-brown spot stains on the left hip and CCM and NHL shield logos are embroidered on the right rear tail. A long black thread hangs loose on the right underarm gusset.
