This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
With history of the game in Canada dating back to the 19th century, around 75 communities in the country have been home to Minor League Baseball teams throughout the years, most prominently in Montreal and Toronto, who were also Major League Baseball's first two north of the border stops, with the city's earning MLB franchises in 1969 and 1977 respectively. Also having achieved a good amount of international success and a participant in seventeen (17) Baseball World Cup's since 1970, offered here is this Team Canada National Baseball Team jersey that dates from the era of the early-to-mid-1980s. Made by Wilson, a brand label displaying a size "44" designation and washing instructions has been affixed to the inner collar of the all white polyester double knit garment. Decorated over the front with "Canada" arched across the chest in dual layer red-over-blue tackle twill letters, the number "39" has been added over the reverse in matching style numerals. With all the buttons present and accounted for over the placket on the front, the jersey displays game-wear in the form of numerous dirt marks and stains throughout the front and reverse as well as sweat staining and toning over the inner collar.
