Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The signatures of the late Gordie Howe and fellow Production Line HOFers Ted Lindsay and Sid Abel appear on each of these two vintage Detroit Red Wings team-signed items, including a circa-1951-52 puck autographed by members of the Stanley Cup champions! Howe, Lindsay and Abel have signed along with fellow HOFers Sawchuk, Kelly, Delvecchio and Pronovost amid the 17 faded but legible blue ink autographs on weathered white hockey tape wrapped around the face and edge of the CCM Art Ross 1950-58 NHL official game puck. Howe, Lindsay and Abel are also among 15 members of the 1947-48 Red Wings, including fellow HOFers Stewart and Lumley, who have signed an Olympia program from Howe’s second season.
Metro Prystai, Marty Pavelich, Glen Skov, Bob Goldham, Benny Woit, Leo Reise and Johnny Wilson are among the other autographs on the team-signed puck.
Jim McFadden, Jim Conacher, Pete Horeck, Don Morrison, Armand “Bep” Guidolin, Rod Morrison, Pavelich and Reise are among the autographs in a variety of inks on the cover of the team-signed Red Wings program, a complete example from the January 10, 1948 game against the Boston Bruins that has been nicely preserved with handling that includes wear and minor tears to the covers, a small stain within Guidolin’s ear on the cover photo, and a few light creases.
