Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Offered here is a remarkable collection celebrating the legendary Jacques Plante, one of the most influential goaltenders in hockey history. Plante revolutionized the position by being the first NHL goalie to regularly wear a mask during games. A six-time Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens, he also won seven Vezina Trophies and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1978. Plante passed away in 1986.
The collection includes a signed index card measuring 3 inches by 5 inches. The signature is bold on an orange index card, and is beautifully preserved. This autograph is certified authentic by PSA/DNA, with the holder in excellent condition with some mounting tape residues present on the back of the holder.
Also included is a 1959 fiberglass replica goalie mask, crafted by Marc Poulin. The mask measures approximately 6 inches wide and 9 inches long and is signed and dated on the interior by Poulin. The craftsmanship reflects the iconic design that Plante first introduced to the NHL.
Completing the set is a Jacques Plante McFarlane figurine, standing approximately 5 inches tall and 6 inches wide. The figurine, mask, and index card are displayed together in a custom display case measuring 16 inches wide and 12 inches tall. All pieces are removable and not glued in, allowing for flexible presentation.
