Originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 16th round of the 1975 Major League Baseball Draft and opting to go professional instead of attending one (1) of the thirty (30) NCAA schools he had scholarship offers from, Dave Stewart would pitch a total of sixteen (16) years in the Major Leagues from 1978 to 1995, compiling a record of 168-129 with the Dodgers, Rangers, Phillies, Athletics and Blue Jays. A three-time World Series champion who would be named World Series MVP in 1989, offered here is this Toronto Blue Jays jersey worn by Stewart for a portion of the strike shortened 1994 Major League Baseball season. A button up garment made by Wilson, a brand label displaying a size "50" designation is affixed to the inner collar as well as a strip tag in the same material as the jersey itself that displays "34 94 2" for the player/year/set. Styled with "Toronto" arched across the chest in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill letters with a Blue Jays team crest over the left side as well that features embroidered details throughout, the 125th MLB anniversary patch worn the league's teams throughout the season has been added over the right sleeve. Featuring all the button still firmly in place over the front, the reverse of the jersey has been decorated with Stewart's number "34" in numbers that match the ones in "Toronto" over the front while "Stewart" is spelt out in single layer blue twill letters that have been arched across the top of the back and sewn directly to the material. Also sporting united blue and white striped cuffs at the end of each sleeve, the jersey displays just light signs of use via some light staining near the left shoulder and some light fabric rubbing.
