Regarded as one of the best trainers of all-time, Dan Canney held the title of Bruins Head Trainer from 1962-1985, winning two Stanley Cups with the B’s during that time. Inducted into the HHOF in 1996, offered here this is the Prince of Wales Trophy awarded to Canney of the Bruins for the 1971-72 regular season. At 13” tall, the silver-plated and wooden miniature replica of the Prince of Wales Trophy displays well, with "HRH Prince of Wales Trophy” and “Dan Canney” engraved on a detailed plaque on the front side of the 2 wooden base, with “NHL Champions Winners 1971 72 Boston Bruins” on the reverse. Of note, the trophy does exhibit wear in spots including to the stone centered over the base and along the top rim. There are also a few small blemishes to the engraved plaques, with the upper portion slightly detached from the base.
