Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Milestones are difficult to achieve and goalie Curtis Joseph came up with a big one on January 4, 2007 when he recorded his 438th win to move ahead of Jacques Plante into fifth place on the all-time list. Cujo’s 2006-07 Phoenix Coyotes game-worn road jersey has a number of photo-matches from several games. The black mark below the “3” on the right sleeve clearly shows in a Getty photo of Joseph during his milestone win, a 2-0 shutout against Carolina in Raleigh. “Official 2006/07-1 Game Worn Jersey” team patch is sewn inside the rear tail and “06-07 Reg Season 1 31 Cujo 5th Wins Overall” is handwritten in black marker inside the jersey behind the team crest.
A December 26, 2006 photo shows the black mark on and above the team crest at the Coyote’s eye, and the long black mark on the front of the left shoulder; a December 28, 2006 photo shows the dark black mark on the left front to the right of the team crest; photos from January 1 and 5, 2007 show that same mark and the long mark on the left shoulder, and another action photo of Joseph shows those two marks and the mark above the Coyote’s eye on the crest as well as the black mark to the left of the “Decade in the Desert” patch on the right breast and the black mark above the ear on the Coyotes’ crest.
More game wear shows in black marks on the front and on the back of the right sleeve.
Goalie Style and size 58 flag tags sit in the back of the neck.
