Enjoying a noteworthy career backstopping six different NHL clubs despite going undrafted, Curtis Joseph attended the University of Wisconsin for one season before making his NHL debut for St Louis, in 1989-90. Best remembered as a Toronto Maple Leaf, Joseph spent three (3) seasons in Oil Country with the Edmonton Oilers, and we have a photo-matched and signed Oilers jersey from 1996-97 worn by the first goaltender in history to have 30 or more wins with five different teams. A single season style, the CCM made garment sports “Goalie Style”, size “56” and RMC Sports tagging affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM logo and NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with the well-known Oilers crest in layered tackle twill and featuring a textured oil drop at the top, matching alternate logo patches sit over each shoulder. Cujo’s number “31” has been sewn to both sleeves and the verso in tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “Joseph” has been spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back. Denoted as a “Set #1 – 96/97” offering according to the team tag sewn inside the rear hem, the jersey shows game-wear in the form of numerous puck marks over the front and both sleeves while light pilling is seen on the interior. Of note, the underside of both sleeves have had extra material added to widen them and the bottom hem has been customized to lengthen the jersey. Signed by Joseph over the reverse number “1” with a silver ink signature that displays without issue, the jersey is photo-matched to the cover of an included Oilers program from December 28th, 1996 that shows matches to various puck marks over the front and through the team crest and under the top blue stipe of the right sleeve. An Oilers LOA and a MeiGray COR will accompany the piece.
