Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A veteran of 10 NHL seasons which included dressing for three different clubs, Craig Simpson was selected 2nd overall in 1985 and won a pair of Stanley Cup championships with Edmonton. From his time in New York State, we have a Buffalo Sabres jersey that was donned by the star in 1994-95, his final NHL season, with Simpson retiring early at just 28 due to injuries. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “56” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse lower hem. Styled with a layered Sabres tackle twill team crest with embroidered detailing, the royal blue V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with the club’s 25th anniversary crest sewn to the right breast. Heavy game-use is visible on the sweater, with numerous marks over the front and sleeves along with board burns on each sleeve, with a few small resulting holes just above each heavily-pilled cuff. There are also a few small holes on the upper reverse and slits over the lower section. A pair of LOAs will accompany.
