Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A four-time Stanley Cup winner with two different clubs, centerman Craig MacTavish is notable as the last individual in NHL history to play without a helmet. He is also the current Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Edmonton Oilers, and has previously served as the team's head coach and general manager. This Oilers alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the London native in 1990-91, as current Stanley Cup champions. Maska Air-Knit tagging remains along the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar oil-drop team crest in tri-layer tackle twill, the solid white V-neck has also been adorned with matching tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers. “MacTavish” also appears across the nameplate on verso in single twill.
Game-wear is heavy on the Oilers gamer, with marks on the lower front and over both sleeves, with examples over the left sleeve’s number. Some light staining/discolouration has also occurred along the lower portion of the right sleeve. There are also 6 large team repairs present including examples that have been material backed, with pairs on the each sleeve and on the lower front.
