Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The most successful team in AHL history, the Cleveland Barons were originally formed in 1937, and won ten division titles along with nine Calder Cup championships before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1973. This lot contains a great group of Barons team-issued photos ranging from 1951-52 to 1960-61 and totaling 55. Included, we have 20 rarely-seen and highly desirable paper stock photos from the 1951-52 AHL season, highlighted by Johnny Bower, and accompanied by fellow NHL notables Joe Carveth, Bob Chrystal, Fred Shero, Vic Lynn, Jackie Gordon, Bob Bailey and coach Bun Cook. This is followed by a group of 34 card stock black and white Barons photos (5 ½” x 6 ¾”, with duplication) including John Ferguson, Cal Gardner, Les Binkley, Fred Glover and others, accompanied by a matching team photo (it appears to be two near-complete sets). The photos from both sets remain in beautiful condition, exhibiting just the lightest amount of handling wear.
