Twice having been named the “Best Sports City in America”, the city of St. Louis can boast ownership of three major professional sports teams that carry the city’s name including the Cardinals (MLB), Blues (NHL) and City SC (MLS) while numerous others once called “The Gateway City” home such as the Browns (MLB), Rams (NFL) and Cardinals (NFL). Presented here, is this collection of three St. Louis jerseys including a 2004 Brandon Spoon Rams Practice Squad game-worn specimen and a 2007 St. Louis Cardinals Opening Series World Series Championship Celebration jersey worn by Tyler Johnson. Starting with the Spoon jersey, the Reebok made specimen made of a mostly white mesh construction features a Reebok jock tag at the front hem that displays both “6 L.B.” and “52” fly tags while a year/size patch reading “02-52” has been sewn over the inner collar. Decorated with Spoon’s number “59” over the front, sleeves and reverse in dual layer tackle twill numerals, “Spoon” is spelt out in single layer navy twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate while St. Louis’ 2004 10th anniversary patch has been added over the left breast. With both NFL shield and Rams wordmark logo patches having been added underneath the collar, wear on the jersey, which has worn by Spoon during his brief time on the practice squad, includes some hit marks over the right sleeve numbers and a team repair over the nameplate. Next, we have a Tyler Johnson St. Louis Cardinals jersey worn during the Cards’ Opening Series of the 2007 season against the New York Mets when they were celebrating their 2006 World Series championship. Made by Majestic, a brand/Authentic Collection jock tag is sewn over the front hem that features both size “48” and “2007” fly tags. Decorated over the front with St. Louis’ famous bird-on-bat logo in chain-stitched style, Johnson’s number “61” has been added to the front and reverse in tri-layer stacked tackle twill numerals while “Johnson” is spelt out in matching style over the top of the back. Having had an MLB logo added over the reverse neckline and a 2006 World Series champions patch added to the left sleeve, the front and reverse numbers, “Johnson” and the MLB logo are all outlined in gold while the jersey exhibits use via staining and dirt marks throughout. A Cardinals LOA will accompany the piece. Lastly, we also have a Cardinals replica jersey signed by Jim Edmons. A Majestic made offering with both brand and size “L” tagging affixed to the inner collar, the jersey is decorated over the front with a familiar Cardinals crest while “Edmonds” and his number “15” is sewn over the reverse in dual layer tackle twill. Remaining in good condition with some spot stains and marks throughout, Edmonds has signed the “5” on the reverse with a silver ink signature that displays without issue while a GAI sticker numbered “GP150500” has been added underneath and is accompanied by a matching COA.
