Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Hailing from the personal collection of one of Europe’s most prolific hockey players in North America during the 1970s, we offer this collection of six jerseys from Ulf Nilsson. From circa the early-1990s, with the national teams of Sweden, Finland and Czechoslovakia represented, these were received by Nilsson at a World Championship when he worked for Upper Deck. All six jerseys are mesh made Tackla examples in the represented country’s colours and feature sublimated graphics, numbers and names with the mesh nameplates sewn to the upper back. All the jerseys have Tackla size tagging affixed to the hems and not at the collar as commonly found on game-worn jerseys of the era. Remaining in excellent condition and showing no wear whatsoever, the players represented include Tommy Söderström (Sweden), Mats Sundin (Sweden), Timo Jutila (Finland), Jarkko Varvio (Finland), Frantisek Musil (Czechoslovakia) and Petr Hrbek (Czechoslovakia). Of note, the only time all 6 represented players played in the same tournament together was the 1992 IIHF World Championship in Czechoslovakia and the three teams represented won gold, silver and bronze respectively. A LOA signed by Ulf Nilsson will accompany the collection.
