Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Serving as the home of the Chicago Black Hawks beginning with the club’s fourth season in 1929-30, Chicago Stadium featured big league hockey for over 60 years, with the hallowed arena demolished early in 1995. Originally culled from the historic venue’s lower bowl, we have a single red cushioned Chicago Stadium seat signed by iconic Madhouse residents Bobby Hull and Pierre Pilote. At approx 36” in height and sporting the original number “8” along the underside of the seat, the fabric-backed seat and back rest along with the metal hardware is all in solid red, with a 20” x 24” black wood and metal custom base with affixed Black Hawks emblem added to allow free-standing. The HOF duo have signed the underside of the seat in matching black ink, with both adding their induction years – with this placement ideal for display as the seat remains in the upright position when not is use.
There is wear to the material and hardware throughout, with the seat rest and back remaining tear-free. There is also a bit of chipping along the underside of the wooden seat.
