Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A mainstay with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, center Chet Miksza spent 14 of his 15 seasons in the CFL with his hometown team in the 1950s and ‘60s. Miksza’s 1959 Tiger-Cats game-worn jersey is from a season that saw Hamilton represent the East in the Grey Cup game. Two-tone tackle twill number 46 is sewn on the chest, back and both sleeves of this long-sleeve style that was the Ti-Cats’ light jersey color scheme. Vintage Sand-Knit size 46 tagging is on the left front hem. There are three team repairs on the black-gold-and-black stripes on the right shoulder and a repaired and reinforced front v-neck collar seam.
More game wear shows in some reddish-brown stains on the front, back and both sleeves, and stains on the front and rear tails and lower portions of the sleeves and cuffs.
Comes with copy of the 1959 Hamilton Tiger-Cats yearbook showing a photo of Chet inside wearing this style. Miksza is also pictured with Hamilton’s offensive starters inside the yearbook, as well as in the Tiger-Cats team picture on the back cover.
