Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Honoured with his portrait gracing the Canadian five-dollar bill for almost half a century, Sir Henri Charles Wilfrid Laurier entered office in 1896 as Canada’s 7th Prime Minister, serving for 15 years, until 1911. Remembered for his vision of individual liberty, he also sought to establish Canada as an autonomous country within the British Empire. We have a signed handwritten letter from the McGill alum. Dated July 21, 1911 and on Prime Minister's Office letterhead, the fold-over affair sports handwritten text on three pages with Laurier signing in black ink, preceded by "Yours Very Sincerely". The signature displays beautifully, a bit lighter than some of the written text, with light wear to the letter including a corner crease and staple holes. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
