Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

The California Golden Seals brought an unexpected splash of color to the NHL when eccentric owner Charlie O. Finley decided to move away from traditional black hockey skates for his team. These CCM tacks game-used skates in Seals Kelly green and California gold leather from the 1970-71 season are attributed to defenseman Wayne Muloin, whose number “4” decal in black is on the outer heel of each boot. Fascinating piece of hockey history with these leather boots actually manufactured by CCM in those colors, as opposed to the Seals’ white skates that followed in 1972, which were in fact painted white. Plenty of game wear with scuffs, nicks and cuts, particularly on the toes. So unique, so 1970s!
CCM Prolite blades, which exhibit rust, are attached to the bottom of the leather undersoles that have “CCM Tackaberry Prolite” stamps.
