Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A product of the Saskatoon Blades who would be drafted 37th overall by the Calgary Flames at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft, Brian Glynn would go on to play a total of 431 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Calgary, Minnesota, Edmonton, Ottawa, Vancouver and Hartford while experiencing playing in the Stanley Cup Finals in both 1991 with Minnesota and 1994 with Vancouver. Offered here, we present this Hartford Whalers jersey worn by Glynn during the 1995-96 season, his last full-time season in the NHL. Made by CCM and sporting both size "56" and CCM labels affixed to the inner collar, with the latter having had a "7" penned to it in partially washed out black marker ink, the logos of both CCM and the NHL have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Whalers team crest that has been administered in a layered tackle twill style, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Glynn's number "7" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Glynn" has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting excellent game-wear throughout the entirety of the piece and sporting a Whalers team stamp from Custom Crafted inside the reverse hem that denotes the piece as an "Official Hartford Whalers 2nd Set 1995-96 Season" offering, stick marks, board burns and coloured board paint transfers are found over the front of the jersey while additional stick marks are seen over the lower reverse and both sleeves to go along with board burns over both sleeves and pilling on the interior, which also retains its original fight strap. Of note, there is also some sweat staining around the collar and the odd spot stain throughout.
