Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

One of the game’s all-time greatest goal scorers despite only being drafted 117th overall in 1984, Brett Hull would secure two of the highest single-season goal totals in history, with his 86 markers in 1990-91 the third highest all-time, surpassed only by Wayne Gretzky. The 1990-91 season would prove to be Hull’s most successful, with his second consecutive selection as a First Team All-Star along with being awarded both the Hart Trophy as most valuable player, and the Lester B. Pearson, as selected by his peers. We have the actual St Louis Blues jersey the superstar was wearing when he scored his historic 86th goal, on March 31st 1991, with this important milestone sweater both photo and video-matched!
Maska Air-Knit tagging sits along the collar with handwritten “52” sizing, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the back bottom hem, along with a white Custom Crafted logo. Styled with an attractive Blues team crest with an embroidered “St Louis” tackle twill patch affixed, the solid white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Hull” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. There is also a second CCM crest over the front hem, with the fight strap cut and removed. Getty Image #52242312 has been matched to a large number of marks on the front of the jersey and over the right sleeve, while an included numeric image has been matched to 10 different dark marks over the lower front including within and below the striping bands. The video from his 86th goal has been matched to the 3 black marks on the left shoulder, to the long black mark starting in the Custom Crafted logo on the hem, and to the black mark at the top left of the "1" over the reverse. One of the most noteworthy jerseys of the modern era, this covetable keepsake will be accompanied by a signed LOA from Brett Hull.
Seeing an absolute ton of game-use, a plethora of dark marks both large and small completely litter the front of the jersey, especially beneath the front band, with numerous examples over each sleeve. Board burns are also present over each sleeve, along with a few small resulting holes, with an additional small hole over the front band. Team repairs are also plentiful, with examples over each sleeve, along with a large L-shaped repair over the front band. We should mention that the CCM logo over the lower front hem doesn’t appear in any of the photo or video matches, and it should be further noted that the loose blue threads on the interior of the team crest also appear to match the included numeric image, but the photo isn’t high resolution enough to call a definitive match. A final match is included, with video from Game #1 of the Division Finals vs the North Stars matched to the big black marks on upper right back of the jersey, and to the black marks over the left shoulder area.
