From one of the best modern players the NHL has seen comes this Calgary Flames jersey worn by Brett Hull during his rookie era! With faded but legible Maska Air-Knit tagging in the collar and triple-red CCM patch embroidered onto the back bottom hem, a 1988 Calgary Olympics patch also sits on the left shoulder. Styled completely in dual-color tackle twill, this garment has also been signed by The Golden Brett on the inside reverse of the team crest in black marker and the signature is perfect. Game-wear includes a few black marks on the lower front band, some puckering to the team crest, nameplate and numbers as well as a couple of additional marks on the elbow area of the right sleeve. Three team repairs are also present on this garment with one on the left sleeve above the cuff, with the remaining two on the elbow of the right sleeve. Originally purchased from MeiGray, the original invoice will accompany. A great rookie playoffs jersey from Hull who scored the first two of his 103 playoffs goals in the Spring of 1987.
Addendum; New research / information are showing that Brett Hull wore this jersey in the 1986-87playoffs. The particularities of that playoffs set that differentiates the 1986-87 playoffs jerseys and the 1987-88 regular season jerseys are that on the 1986-87 playoffs jerseys the letters on the nameplate were a little wider and that the gold stripes on the sleeves of the 1986-87 playoffs jerseys were narrower than on the sleeves of the 1987-88 regular season jerseys with the Calgary 1988 Olympic Patch appearing on both sets of jerseys. The Flames played the Jets at home on April 8th, 9th and 14th 1987 (wearing their white jerseys) and in Winnipeg on April 11th, 12th and 16th (wearing their red jerseys). Brett Hull played in 4 of the 6 games of this series notching his first two career playoffs goals and for sure at least played in the April 16th 1987 road game as he is shown of film of this game. This set of 1986-87 playoffs jerseys were also worn in the 1987-88 pre-season as per information received.
