Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

Team USA’s decision to bring Brett Hull to the 1986 IIHF world championships in Moscow swayed the HOF right wing to play as an American for the rest of his international career. A dual citizen, the Golden Brett was passed over by Canada for the 1986 worlds so he took up the U.S. invitation and scored seven goals and 11 points in 10 games. Offered from Brett’s personal collection are his three pieces from the tournament that saw him named player of the game for Team USA’s 9-2 win over Germany on April 15. The Moscow 1986 logo appears on all three porcelain pieces, including two featuring a globe and a dove that stand 12” and 11” at their highest and a cup. Comes with Brett Hull's signed LOA.
Russian text that appears on one of the three pieces reads "Game MVP, USA-Germany 15 April 1986" when translated.
The United States finished in sixth place at the 1986 IIHF World Championships that were held in the Soviet Union from April 12-28.
