Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
An historical Beantown institution that stood in the beautiful city of Boston for six decades, the venerable old Boston Garden was witness to endless hockey tilts, concerts, circuses and ice shows, with even important political rallies held at the Causeway Street landmark such as the speech given by John F Kennedy, in November of 1960. Hailing from the noteworthy Boston Garden Auction held after the building closed its doors in 1996, we have the original double doors players went through to enter the inner sanctuary of the Garden… the dressing room! Constructed of thick solid wood finished in Bruins’ black, each door is approx 94 ½” tall, 1 7/8” thick and 35 ¾” in width. A large Bruins logo has been centered over the doors, made with colored plastic tape. There is no key for the lock, with a small plaque affixed to the left door mentioning their history. We should also note that the doors remain in exactly the same condition as when first offered in the Boston Garden Auction, with no alterations made since. Please take note that these items may be subject to a silent reserve and are currently in storage in Florida where they will be shipped from, and that due to their size and weight, special shipping arrangements will be required.
