Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Led by Nels Stewart’s and Marty Barry’s combined 78 points, the Boston Bruins would finish 4th in the American Division at the close of the 1933-34 season. The Bruins would feature eight HOFers, including head coach and hockey legend Art Ross. We have a puck team-signed by the 1933-34 Bruins. A Spalding model that saw use in the NHL throughout the 1930s, one side feature’s a clean rubberized logo, with tape added to the reverse, as well as along the side, with 11 signing over the covered Spalding logo on one side, and just a pair of signatures along the side. Scripted in thin black marker, deceased HOFers Barry, Stewart, Oliver, Siebert and Dit Clapper have signed, along with Eddie Shore, with the Shore signature along the side of the puck. Most of the signatures display well with minimal fading, with the Shore example somewhat light towards the end of his name, with this most likely occurring through handling. A copy of the original COA will accompany.
The additional signers include Lamb, Beattie, Smith, Smillie, O’Neill, Galbraith and trainer Win Green (also along the side near the Eddie Shore signature). Tiny Thompson also appears, with his name handwritten just above the Shore signature, with this most likely a “clubhouse” example. The tape added to the puck remains firmly affixed, with just some age toning.
