Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Concluding one of the most significant careers in North American sports, and solidifying a legacy as arguably the greatest player in history after a mere dozen NHL seasons, Bobby Orr concluded his iconic career with a pair of partial seasons for the Chicago Black Hawks which included a total of 26 games. Orr would play his final NHL game for the Hawks, on Nov 1, 1978. With such a short time in the Windy City, any and all memorabilia featuring the legendary blueliner donning the Indian head jersey is quite scarce and highly sought. We offer an important Black Hawks ticket stub collection of 7 for noteworthy matches of Orr. Included, we have stubs for Oct 9, 1976 (Orr's second ever game played for the Black Hawks), Oct 31, 1976 (Orr's first game as a Black Hawk vs Washington, with 1 assist in the match and 5 shots), Nov 19, 1976 (last game ever played in Atlanta, 1 assist in the game), Jan 15, 1977 (last NHL game played in Toronto), Jan 27, 1977 (last game in Vancouver and final game of the 1976-77 season), Oct 19, 1978 (4th last NHL game, scored his last career assist and 2nd last career goal) and Oct 29, 1978 (2nd last career game and last NHL penalty). Also included, we have a modern 8" x 10" print of Orr as a Black Hawk. This collection would take quite the effort to replicate.
