Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

Becoming a free agent in 1976 and with Chicago offering a five-year guaranteed contract, Bobby Orr signed with the Black Hawks at a secret meeting, ending his decade-long relationship with Beantown. Orr would only dress for 26 regular-season games with the Black Hawks spread over two seasons before hanging up his skates for good, in 1978-79. This stick was used by the superstar during his time in the Windy City. A Victoriaville model with “Orr” stamped to the upper shaft and “4” handwritten, the stick has heavy now-yellowed tape that was added to the lower shaft to correct a crack (the crack was repaired along the blade as well), with the original white spiral tape pattern over the shaved handle. Heavy use is exhibited on the especially desirable lumber, with marks and wear to the blade including the underside, with all four edges along the shaft shaved. The spiral pattern has also darkened somewhat, with some additional wear to the screened graphics.
