Scoring 67 points in 61 games along with 11 playoff points in just 8 games, Bobby Hull led his Chicago Black Hawks to the Stanley Cup semifinals in 1969-70, where the club lost to a youthful Bobby Orr and the Boston Bruins. This prized signed and photo-matched Chicago Black Hawks jersey was worn by the Golden Jet during the 1969-70 NHL season. From the club's 1968-69 set of jerseys, "Gunzo's Sports Center Inc Berwyn Ill" labeling is affixed to the collar along with a "50" size tag (after the fire that destroyed the team supplier store in 1970, subsequent Gunzo's tagging lists River Forest as location). Styled with the traditional Indian Head team crest, "9" in single black twill is sewn to the sleeves and verso, with matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests to each shoulder. There is also a General Athletic tag in the hem with handwritten "Mon, Mar 2, 1970" which is supposed to be the date the former owner of the jersey received it from Hull. Signed beneath the team crest in black marker, there is some bleeding from the signature. Sporting a number of puck and stick marks throughout as well as blue and red paint transfer, the jersey exhibits great game-use, with a few small stains to the front and reverse. Heavily photo-matched, Getty Image #515288904 (January 22nd 1970 vs the Detroit Red Wings) has been matched to the black mark to the left of the number "9" on the reverse, while Getty Image #517816348 (January 24th 1970 vs the Montreal Canadiens) has been matched to the long diagonal black mark below the team crest, with the image also showing the correct high placement of the team crest. Additionally, The April 1970 issue of Hockey World and April 24, 1970 issue of The Hockey News (both included) are matched to the marks beneath the team crest. The dark marks on the left sleeve near the number are matched to Hull's 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee All-Star card (#235), with these marks also matched to an included photo. One of the better jerseys we have handled in a while, this Golden Jet artifact is ready for takeoff!!
