Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Absurd “Banana Hook” curves here on these Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita 1960s Black Hawks CCM game-issued sticks. As the story goes, Mikita invented the curved stick when his stick became wedged between a door and the boards at practice and the blade bent at an angle. Stan fired off a few shots with the warped blade and the rest is history. These CCM Custom Pros were fabricated by our consignor's uncle at the CCM plant in St-Jean, Quebec back in the 1960s. “Gunzo’s Berwyn ILL.” Is stamped on the shaft of both sticks, which “Mikita” is stamped on Stan’s and “B Hull 9” on the Golden Jet’s, which displays Bobby’s huge and beautiful black marker autograph on the front of the wickedly warped blade.
