Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Canada climbed back atop the world of elite international hockey in 1984 when it reclaimed the Canada Cup it yielded three years earlier. Canada’s two-game sweep of Sweden in the final was anticlimactic in the wake of Mike Bossy’s overtime goal for an unforgettable win against the Soviet Union in the semi-final. This personal Canada Cup trophy was presented to head equipment manager Barrie Stafford. His full name is engraved on a plaque at the base of the trophy, which stands 11 1/2” tall with green felt on the bottom. Nicely preserved overall with a small broken tip of the top point, as well as light cracking/bulging that is common for this award. Comes with Barrie Stafford’s signed LOA.
