Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
For the mere price of $10, a lucky anonymous Edmonton Oilers fan who purchased the offered ticket stub witnessed history unfold on April 4, 1982, as the iconic Wayne Gretzky secured his record-breaking 212th point of the season, in the final regular-season game vs the Winnipeg Jets, at Northland Coliseum. Won by the Oilers 2-1, with Gretzky assisting on Jari Kurri’s first-period goal, The Great One would win the Art Ross, along with the Hart Memorial and Lester B. Pearson trophies for his record-breaking season. Graded FR 1.5 by PSA, with staining to the reverse, we should note that this is the ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS STUB GRADED BY PSA. Eclipsed by the man himself in 1985-86, when Gretzky notched 215 points, no other player in history has topped the 200-point plateau.
