Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
A light-hearted hockey movie filled with fisticuffs and laughs around the premise of becoming a hockey player through fighting, "Goon" tells the story of Doug Glatt finding his way in the world as member of the Halifax Highlanders, fighting anyone who tries to go after star player, Xavier Laflamme, and setting up a heavy-weight tilt between Glatt and noted tough guy, Ross "The Boss" Rhea, to push the Highlanders into the playoffs. Offered here, we present this Concord Minutemen jersey worn by the actor that plays "Sirko" during the production of the movie. Made by Kobe, both brand and size "XL" tagging are affixed to the inner collar while additional Kobe brand tags/patches have been added over the reverse hem and left shoulder. Decorated over the front with a Concord Minutemen team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety, a patch for the fictional Eastern Maritime Hockey League is found over the right breast as well. Accented over the reverse with the number "10" in dual layer numbers, "Sirko" is spelt out in matching style via letters that have been sewn directly to the material of the upper back. Sporting a professional style fight strap on the interior, the jersey, a mimic of the ones worn by the Atlanta Thrashers in the early-2000s, remains in excellent condition with only a couple of light spot stains over the lower front and some light colour bleed in areas from washings.
