Drafted 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1986 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Zarley Zalapski would play eleven years in the NHL, siting up for Pittsburgh, Hartford, Calgary, Montreal and Philadelphia during that time. Registering a total of 384 points during his time in the league and playing in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is this Pittsburgh Penguins jersey worn by Zalapski during the final portion of the 1989-90 NHL regular season. Made by CCM, a Maska label displaying Zalapski's number "33" in black marker is affixed to the inner collar, which also sports a size "50" designation in faded blue ballpoint pen ink. A third (3rd) set example donned between February 24th, 1990 and March 29th, 1990 based on the CCM and NHL shield emblem combo that is embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout while the 1990 NHL All-Star Game patch, hosted by the Penguins, sits atop of the left shoulder. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Zalapski's number "33" in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Zalapski" is spelt out in single layer yellow twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Still featuring its original fight strap on the interior and showing salt deposits in its snaps, the garment shows game-wear in the form of stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns are present over both sleeves as well but heaviest on the left one near the cuff. Accompanied by a MeiGray LOA and COR, the jersey has been photo-matched with Zalapski's 1990-91 Upper Deck hockey card which shows a match to the dark stick marks in the yellow stripe near the left elbow.
