Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
A career spanning half a century, Wren Blair served in many positions while contributing to the game including as a coach, general manager, scout and executive in a number of leagues including the NHL. Beginning in 1958 and concluding in 1971, Blair served as the General Manager of the Clinton Comets of the Eastern Hockey League. From his personal collection, we have a 1967-68 Comets EHL Walker Cup championship ring. Produced for Blair in 2012, the size 7 ring features a large blue stone over the top encompassed by "Eastern Hockey League Champions 1967-68" in slanted raised letters. The left shank has "Blair" and "Comets GM", while the right has an image of the Walker Cup with the team's record of "57-5-10". The inner band is stamped "LTM" with a pair of hallmarks. In beautiful condition, the ring does exhibit a few very tiny dings along edges visible under magnification.
