Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
The preferred weapon of choice by the man known as "The Great One" during the era that was the early-to-mid-1990s when he was making hockey an everyday topic in Los Angeles and other unconventional hockey markets, Wayne Gretzky would play a total of 539 games with the Kings over the course of eight (8) years and register 246 goals and 672 assists for a total of 918 points. Still holding or sharing fifty-eight (58) National Hockey League records, offered here, we present this early-1990s Wayne Gretzky game-issued stick that has been transformed into a piece of art that commemorates Wayne's time as a member of the Kings. An Easton Aluminum HXP 5100 model shaft with inserted Easton brand blade, "Gretzky" factory graphics over the upper shaft while "Gretzky" has also been stamped over the blade stem as well. Void of any tape over the blade but sporting Wayne's patented "Jack the Gripper" over the handle/knob, the butt end is void of any usually seen handwritten code. A seldom seen piece done by renowned sports artist, Steve Houston, his incredible artwork is found over the forehand side of the blade and is dated "91" (1991). Also having been signed by Wayne over the forehand side of the blade stem with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite some minor wear, don't miss out on this prime and rarely seen Gretzky offering.
