Serving as captain for the Eastern Conference at the 1997 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose, Wayne Gretzky netted a single assist on a Mario Lemieux goal, with the Easterners beating the Westerners 11-7. This would be The Great One's third last appearance at the NHL's best on best showcase. This signed stick was used at the 1997 All-Star Game by Gretzky, and was originally obtained by Dino Ciccarelli for his father who is now deceased. An Easton Silver Tip model with Gretzky factory graphics, “Gretzky” has been stamped onto the inserted Easton wooden blade, with Wayne’s familiar “Jack the Gripper” over the handle (the top section has been ripped away, with the top of the shaft exposed). The blade tape has been removed - with very small bits of remaining tape visible, with the outline of the tape at the toe section of the blade also showing. We should note that there are also a few small chips to the surface on the lower shaft. Wayne has signed the blade in black marker, adding, "To Dino, congratulations on a great career", as well as "All-Star Game San Jose 97". The signature and inscription remain dark with no issues. Hailing from the Dino Ciccarelli personal collection, a signed LOA from Dino Ciccarelli will accompany.
