Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
“Gretzky” is stamped on the blade of this beautiful Easton 5100 aluminum game-used stick that the Great One autographed and gifted to L.A. Kings teammate Tomas Sandstrom. This Wayne Gretzky gamer from Sandstrom’s personal collection is from the 1994-95 season as indicated in the “RS 94” (regular season 1994-95) coding handwritten in black marker on the top of wood knob along with “WSH” and “230” for Washington and Game 230 of the NHL master schedule. Wayne’s original shaved down “Jack the Gripper” remains in place on the knob with the baby-powdered black hockey tape still wrapped around the blade. Gretz placed a big, bold black marker autograph on the front of the Easton wood blade insert. Game use shows in marks on the shaft, including some red goalpost paint transfer. “Gretzky” appears below the gripper knob on the shaft among the graphics on the shaft, which has the remains of tan-colored tape in three different areas where the stick was once bundled with others. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA, as well as a JSA LOA for the Gretzky signature.
