Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

Wayne Gretzky capped his outstanding 1983-84 season with his first of four Stanley Cup victories with the Edmonton Oilers. Judging by its “Mar 19 84” date stamp, the Great One’s signed Titan TPM 2020 game-used stick was most likely used during the 1984 playoffs, when he had 13 goals and 35 points in 19 games to guide Edmonton to the Cup after his 87-goal, 205-point season. Wayne placed a big bold black marker autograph low on the front of the shaft and “WG-1” is handwritten just above the heel of the blade, which has Gretz’s customary baby powder residue on his original tape job. This gorgeous Gretzky signed gamer with a nice black mark on the toe comes with Shawn Chaulk’s signed LOA.
“W. Gretzky” is stamped high on the shaft and his iconic number “99” is handwritten in blue marker below his well-worn taped knob.
