Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Still regarded as the game's best all-time player, any and all Wayne Gretzky items are always on the radar of collectors. We have a neat group of signed items including examples not overly common. Representing Gretzky’s time both with Team Canada and as an NHL All-Star, this group is perfect for any connoisseur of The Great One, with a 1992 All-Star Game limited-edition jersey, a signed Team Canada Jofa helmet and a signed Hespeler stick. The jersey will be accompanied by a WGA COA, the stick by a PSA/DNA LOA and the helmet will include a UDA COA.
The stick has “Gretzky” stamped-on, with a gripper over the handle, with Wayne adding a light but gorgeous black marker signature across the blade, with a PSA/DNA sticker affixed near the toe section. Codes have also been written by our consignor over the butt end for display purposes. The jersey was made by CCM Vintage with a label over the collar along with a size “56” tag, with tackle twill team crest, reverse numbers and shoulder patches, with the NHL 75th anniversary crest over the right breast. Wayne has signed the first reverse “9”, and the signature is bold and displays beautifully. The limited-edition number of “74/199” has been embroidered over the lower reverse. The white helmet has “99” decals over the reverse along with Team Canada stickers on either side, with Gretzky signing beneath the right sticker, with the signature rubbed showing slight loss.
