Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Kenesky goalie pads were the standard for the NHL’s top netminders, from Turk Broda, Harry Lumley, Terry Sawchuk, Gump Worsley, Glenn Hall and Johnny Bower, and right on up to Ron Hextall! Emil “Pop” Kenesky developed in 1924 what stands to this day as the typical style of hockey goalie pads, and a vintage pair is a must for a goalie equipment collection. This 32” white pair has the original “Kenesky” cloth patches on the outer edge of each pad, and the remnants of the “Kenesky” tagging on the inner edge of the top of the right pad. They have their original leather straps and buckles and exhibit nice wear that only enhances their display.
