Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
While tea and hockey don’t exactly go hand in hand, this circa 1910s tea pot will definitely raise the eyebrow of any astute collector, as a CH monogram that looks suspiciously similar to les Canadiens has been engraved onto its side. Constructed of wood and silver plate, its ornateness suggests a well-to-do history. Just over 3” in height, and 8” long, the bottom has several markings including “Toronto Silver Plate Co”, “Nickel Silver”, as well as “Silver Soldered” and “0 2 5 1 9”. While we can't ascertain that this piece is indeed Montreal Canadiens-related, that possibility sure makes it appealing!
