Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Perhaps the most collected modern player, Bobby Orr items are always in demand, with this lot ready to enhance any gathering of Orr or Beantown material. Seven different items are offered, including a Regal Toy doll of the superstar, a small dish, thermos, mug, puzzle, Easter Seals poster and a copy of the Hockey News with Orr cover. The Regal doll remains in gorgeous condition in its original packaging, with some wear to the cardboard, mostly along edges. The plastic covering has become a bit unglued along the bottom, with the gloves no longer present. The dish is 5 ¼” and it features an image of Orr along with a Bruins logo and facsimile signature. Produced by MB of Italy, the dish remains in near mint condition. The mug features a monogram on the underside, with an image of Orr along with career highlights, while the Thermos made by Alladin shows light wear. Next we have the puzzle from 1970 made by APC which shows damage to the lid, with the box somewhat pushed in, and we are unsure if it’s complete. The Hockey News is the 50th anniversary issue from the late-1990’s, in handled condition with moderate wear, with an image of Orr on the cover. Lastly, the Easter Seals poster is roughly 18” x 12”, advertising a celebrity skate with Orr held in Barrie in 1992. The poster exhibits multiple fold lines along with some creasing and edge tears.
