Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Released at the tail end of his storied National Hockey League career after he had moved on from the Boston Bruins to the Chicago Black Hawks, Bobby Orr is the subject of the classic late-1970s pinball machine titled "Bobby Orr Power Play", which featured hockey imagery and effects. Produced by the Bally Manufacturing Corporation and dating to 1977, 13,750 units of the machine were produced and offered here we present this original back glass for the machine, which remains on the want list of all advanced Bobby Orr collectors. Measuring roughly 28 1/2" x 26" in size and displaying stunning graphics, imagery pits the Black Hawks against a generic Team Canada and features a right-handed shooting Orr wielding a Victoriaville stick in his Black Hawks uniform and a masked goalie in a Canada jersey that resembles Wayne Thomas of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Also displaying "Bobby Orr Power Play" and Canadian flags plus Black Hawks logos, the graphics remain in overall excellent condition with only minor surface wear in some areas, particularly around the edges and corners.
