Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Before he was calling the shots behind the bench, Travis Green was a well-respected NHL
veteran known for his reliability as a depth forward who could contribute on the scoresheet and
play a strong two-way game. With over 900 games under his belt, Green is best remembered
for his early years with the New York Islanders, where he began his career and spent six
seasons establishing himself as a dependable presence down the middle. He would go on to
play key roles in Anaheim and Phoenix before landing in Toronto in 2001, where Green was part
of the hard-nosed 2001-02 Leafs team that battled its way to the Eastern Conference Finals,
ultimately falling short of a Stanley Cup Final berth after a tough series against the Carolina
Hurricanes.
This pre-season worn jersey from the 2002-03 campaign comes with a LOA and offers a great
snapshot of that era. It’s a size 56 CCM, with the CCM logo stitched along the reverse neckline
and classic Maple Leafs patches on each shoulder. Green’s number 39 appears on both
sleeves and the verso in bold blue over white and silver tackle twill, with “GREEN” single-twill
stitched across a white nameplate on the back.
Despite being a pre-season piece, the jersey shows significant game use. The front crest and
body are marked up with puck and stick traces. A blue transfer scuff on the right shoulder, with
additional stick marks trailing down the sleeve. On the left side, a more prominent transfer sits
near the cuff, paired with several stick marks along the arm. A fight strap is affixed inside, and
the MeiGray patch sewn into the hem.
